IELTS International expands across the country

IELTS International, the organization operating the International English Language Testing System in the U.S. announced further expansion of their test center network.  With more new testing locations throughout the U.S. - ranging from Newark, NJ, Miami, FL, Austin, TX to San Diego, CA - test takers needing proof of English language proficiency  for education, professional accreditation or immigration, now have increased accessibility to the exam in the U.S.

IELTS, a test of English language proficiency for non-native speakers, is the leading international English language proficiency test that is working continuously to expand its global network of test center locations and provide more and easier access to the exam to those who are required to demonstrate their language proficiency for education, work or immigration purposes.  IELTS’ prominence in the U.S. market continues to grow, as more than 2,500 American universities, schools and faculties currently accept IELTS for admissions purposes, including all Ivy League schools, as well as other top-ranked institutions of higher education across the country.  More than 6,000 organizations around the world trust and recognize IELTS as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of true-to-life ability to communicate in English.

“For applicants applying to U.S. schools and international professionals applying for U.S. accreditation, local geographic accessibility of IELTS is key,” said Beryl Meiron, Executive Director of IELTS International.  “We’re pleased to offer test candidates increased access to the test and believe that continued expansion of our test center network will make it even more convenient for candidates to register for IELTS, receive their results and take the next step towards success.”

In addition to the current U.S. test center locations, the following new sites began or will be offering the IELTS test this year:

IELTS has enhanced accessibility to its test in the U.S. through the development of new testing locations at community colleges, university testing centers and English as a Second Language (ESL) departments around the country.

"It has been clear that student demand is really driving the need for IELTS to offer convenient access to the test," said Richard Halstead, IELTS International Regional Manager of the U.S. Test Center Network. "We've found that test takers really appreciate the personalized customer service provided by test centers, and the versatility of the exam. The live, face-to-face interview with a trained, certified and experienced ESL professional has been the main attraction over the years. We're excited about test center expansion -- taking the IELTS test has never been easier."
